Regular Decision Admission

I’m wondering how many WL students had parents who didn’t write the letter as requested by UR. Just curious.

Son was accepted and I wrote the letter…I kind of liked the opportunity to brag about him, lol!

Accepted in MD! Got my letter friday.

My DS was wait listed and I did write the parent letter.

@vamominvabeach‌ Guess my theory is incorrect. (Sorry about the WL.)

It’s all good, DS loves the school he has chosen.

Wait listed! I thought it would be a rejection, so that was nice!

Waitlisted, kind of surprised. 33 ACT and 3.8 UW GPA. Tons of community service/extra curriculars, and strong essay about learning to communicate with a special needs child I was coaching for Special Olympics. Rigorous course load, taking all honors as an underclassman and then all IB classes as an upperclassman. NHS, Outdoor Adventure Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Fashion for Everyone club (secretary), HOSA, GSA (president), Special Olympics, Women’s affinity club, etc. Played volleyball on a state championship team and I mainly do musical theatre, but I also do other shows as well.
Accepted: UNC, Sewanee (with $12,000 annually), and Elon (with $6,000 annually)
Waitlisted: here and Vanderbilt
Rejected: none
Pretty bummed out, as this was one of my favorites and one of my top two choices.

@caus15 I’m surprised you didn’t get in also…if it’s a top choice, definitely let them know and it may help. Good luck!

For those of you that received merit scholarships/honors, could you explain when/how you found out and a brief summary of your stats? Thanks!

Is acceptance letter in big packet or letter? Can’t wait to get home and see if anything has finally arrived!

Got in to Michigan so just waiting on UR

@TP2525 Richmond Scholars found out about a week before regular decision notifications went out via phonecall, I was named a Boatwright Scholar. I’m pretty sure for Presidential Scholarships you are notified in your financial aid letter unless you were a Richmond Scholars finalist. My stats:
2170 SAT
3.9ish GPA unweighted
Not super spectacular extracurriculars but a couple of leadership positions
I def emphasized being Russian and speaking three languages in my interview (not international)

Including today’s mail, my S has not received any decision from Richmond. I wonder what’s going on?

Waitlisted today! I considered taking this one the most because at least they meet full need off the waitlist. Not need blind though for WL and I’m really happy with a different school I got into as well as the aid from that school. Congrats everyone!

For those on the waitlist, please be patient and accept their invitation. If all else fails, reconsider applying as a transfer. It is much easier to get in that way. I know a lot of people who did.

@decidenowUR I know richmond is a great school and I totally agree that if Richmond is a students too choice they should take the wait-list. That said it seems like Richmond has a history of sending out way too many waitlist offers(same as number of acceptances). Also the fact that Richmond is need aware for WL is understandable but it makes less sense for a 0 EFC student to take a spot when they were not accepted during need blind RD. I’m just saying that there’s no reason to invest much hope in a waitlist that size(or most wait-lists in general). Even if admissions was off on yield it would probably be 100 students max out of over 1000. It was less than one percent of those accepting waitlist last year that got in. Looking at previous years it never reaches ten percent.

@HPAlpha‌ and @kcgirl1017‌ - The acceptance packages are Priority Mail envelopes. They are stiff and didn’t fit in our mailbox. My D’s was under the front doormat. Since they are priority, they should be there in 2 - 3 days. My D’s got here (Phoenix) on Friday.

Accepted last night via email. Upstate NY applicant.

Besides @babyhead being accepted last night via email (that was odd), I’ve just noticed a theme here. I have noticed that no one received a denied letter in the mail. I’ve seen Priority Mail acceptances and letter wait lists. So I’m guessing those of us who haven’t heard anything yet will either get a denied email or letter tomorrow.
