Hi everyone I am an European Applicant applying from China. It was unfortunate that I got rejected from Boston U but I applied to SLC and I did not get any news from them at all. Although I am not that worried, it just makes me wonder why they put out their admission decisions so late? All the IVY schools sent out their letters a few days ago… Just curious :(

I hope everyone can get into their dream schools. AMEN!

Just found out my friend got her acceptance yesterday and she lives in New York City. Pretty sure not receiving a letter yet isn’t indicative of our admission decision…

Still waiting to hear in OH. Almost everything else has long been announced – just waiting on some final scholarship results from Davidson. Sarah Lawrence was high on our list but other two of top three ( okay – not counting early rejection from Princeton) have been sooo nice and sooo enthused that the wait for SLC’s decision has really taken them out of the race at this point. D has almost full ride at one of top picks and the other looks hopeful. I really think SLC will lose some good students over this delay.

still nothing here. I feel like this really hurts their yield. SLC is one of my top choice & I wanted to schedule a visit over break, but only if I was admitted. They’re giving us such short notice

Waiting for the mailman…he is in the neighborhood, and my goodness, he must be 75 and has the speed of a snail. Mail did not get delivered until 7:00 pm last night!!! It is usually 4:00 now. I will let you know if the letters have reached FL, very soon! I may kick the mail box if it’s not there.

And yes, I have to agree, this has to hurt SLC, waiting like this. My D is ready to just accept Rollins, the school that gave her a wonderful offer. This is the last one we are waiting on!!!

:( Nothing in the mail here in Florida. Maybe she just didn’t get in. I don’t know what to think. Honestly, she is 90 % sure she is going to accept Rollins anyway, because it’s just too good to turn down, but I guess we were holding out a little hope that maybe she might get a pretty good offer from SLC. We just want to know one way or another.

Waitlisted in Nyc. Boo:(( i wonder how many waitlisted are there and whats my chance of actually receving a “call back”. Hope everyone got a big envelope!!

Turnip- I totally agree. My D is almost definite about another school, but I want to see the SLC decision and close out my spreadsheet. It just won’t feel finished until she hears. I guess tomorrow.

With all respect Crazysah, I have to say your recent post reinforces a sense of SLC’s disengagement. “If you have any questions” – really?? I think all these folks still waiting have “questions.”

The way admission decisions have been handled points to potential administrative bungling or, at best, a disconnect, down the road that may give prospective acceptees pause.

Crazysah: Do you work for admissions? If so, can you offer advice on appealing financial aid decisions? Our offer was in no way tied to reality as defined by FAFSA EFC. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Crazysah: you wouldn’t happen to know if decisions were sent out in phases, would you? Like acceptances first, then the rest… Still have heard nothing in Florida.

I can all but guarantee I’d be in if they accepted SAT scores this year, but I’m not too unhappy, since I just received a pretty good aid offer from Bard, and SLC is way too expensive.

Nothing here in FL too, but I’m going to assume wait-listed. I think if my daughter’s SAT scores would have been looked at she would have had a better chance. I know that it would have been too expensive anyway. She is most likely going to take her wonderful scholarship offer from Rollins College, definitely by Friday. We are not waiting past then for sure. She was ready to accept Rollins last week anyway, assuming SLC would be too much $$. I have heard that SLC goes through cycles, that some years they give out way more fa to students and then some years not so much. From what I have been hearing, it must be one of those not so much years. They must have more people full pay students this year to pick from. Oh well, no hard feelings, except maybe it would have been nice to be notified by April 1st, like most schools did, that way kids can make up their minds on what they are going to do. Just happy that we have great options still available.
