Is it significantly harder to get into CU during the regular decision round? The admission statistics certainly indicate so, but i'm sure that doesn't tell the whole story, since the applicant pool is stronger early. But how much does applying RD disadvantage you compared to someone who applied early?

THanks

I know the stats are pretty drastic, but in terms of quality of applicant accepted ED, I know that they do let in some ppl who would otherwise not get in as easily. If you love Columbia, as I do, do ED, it's just safer.

From what I've heard, the ED pool is also proportionally stronger than the RD pool.

"proportionally stronger than the RD pool."

proportional to what?

ED pool might be stronger, but acceptance rate ED = 3 x acceptance rate RD

reasonably nothing can justify this. there are incentive to take Ed kids over RD kids, it helps yeild and lowers overall acceptance rate to take more kids ED

yeah but keep in mind a lot of EDers are legacies + sports recruits
