Regular Decisions Are Out!

Don't assume anything like that, thisistony

This wasn't a formal acceptance letter per se. It was actually moreso a "likely letter" for Olin kids, so it doesn't meant THAT much.

i don't think its a likely letter at all since mine said "Congratulations! Later this month, you will receive a letter from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Washington University, informing you of your admission to the John M. Olin School of Business as a member of the Class of 2011." i'm pretty sure it means ur 100% in. however i don't no if this email goes out to all admitted or only a select few.

mich_GIRL, that is the definition of a likely letter.

I think she means that it isn't "likely," it's definite.

Oh, you're right.

Three years ago my D got an early letter from WUSTL congratulating her on her admission and inviting her to an accepted-student weekend for her major/interest/school. They even paid for the airplane ticket!

i've got that for olin. my parents don't really want me to go since my matriculation chances are slim to none and they think washu should save it for someone worthier but to me its like, VACATION!!!!!

Hey, all-expense paid trip? GO! After spending all that time and money applying, you better take what they give you :) There isn't usually such a thing as a free lunch!

why don't they use that extra money to institute need-blind admission?

Lol there is a long, rather ornery thread on this Wash U forum right now about that very thing, wang.

has anyone who applied engineering heard anything yet?
any likelies in the mail?

i've read it; that was disputing whether it existed. why do they include this seemingly unnecessary amenity when they could be using that money better elsewhere is my question

I agree with you wang, it seems rather contradictory. I'm tempted to ask Wash U about it directly lol.

Any more letters in the mail today?

I just checked the mail, nothing for me (Arts & Sciences) although I did get a nice handwritten letter from Wellesley :)
