I have a question about the honors program & reilly weekend. I don't want to sound presumptuous as if I am assuming I would get into these programs, but my college counselor seems to think that I could have a pretty good shot at it so I have looked into the Glynn Family Honors Program and I watched some videos from previous Reilly weekends (Reilly weekend looks like so much fun!). My question is, are my chances of getting into these increased by applying early? Is there anyone here who has participated in these programs who could share their own story (did you apply EA, RD, what was your experience, etc)? I saw another thread where someone said that there was a Reilly Weekend for EA applicants and then another separate one for RD applicants. However, I could not find anything to confirm this on the ND website. Is this true?

I was on the Reilly Weekend last year and am in the Engineering Scholars Program, but I know many people who are in Glynn from the weekend. First off, the weekend itself is awesome (you heard correctly: there are two different weekends for EA vs RD). They flew me out in February all expense paid, took me to fancy dinners, let me go to classes, gave us stadium tours, let us skate on Compton’s main ice, etc. Basically they let us do whatever we wanted and it was one of the best weekends (4 days really) of my life. As far as getting in to the program goes, I applied early action but they take about 80 people on each weekend. Just thinking about that makes EA seem like it has better chances (same amount of spots with less people applying), but then again most EA applicants also have better apps. I would suggest applying EA, but either way should be relatively the same in the end. Good luck at getting in and making Reilly! Of those who went on the weekend last year, about 80% went to ND which really shows how enjoyable the weekend was. It’s actually a pretty good representation of Notre Dame life as well, minus the no homework and better food.
