I had two bad semesters in school and was suspended. I spoke to various administrative faculty members and professors, explained my situation, provided convincing documentation, and have been doing everything to correct the situation, so they all said my reinstatement was ironclad. I'm just waiting for it to go through, but I don't want to go back to this school. I want to change my major to something my current uni doesn't offer.

There's a local community college I've already spoken with and they're ready to take me this fall so I can get my grades up and then I intend to transfer to another university that has the major I want, but will not returning to my current uni affect my getting into the future one because I'll have been reinstated, but will not have returned? Has anyone ever done this? I've been reading online that you have to be reinstated to have any chance with another university, but I haven't found anything that says you have to actually return. I'm pretty sure my reinstatement will stand even if I don't register, right? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!
