I had been academically dismissed from my state school because my GPA fell below a 2.0. I am currently earning straight A's at my local community college and I was wondering if my previous institution will take in part my progress when reinstating me.

The business school requires a 3.0 for transfer students to apply. If I earn a 4.0 at community college, does this mean I can still apply? Or does my GPA when I apply include by my previous shameful GPA?

@Terps1 Applying for reinstatement is different from transfer. You should have received specific instructions on how to apply for reinstatement and the deadline. 4.0 is a really good GPA and therefore your chance of reinstatement looks very possible. Most colleges also require a short convincing letter why you should be reinstated. If you wish to be reinstated in the Spring semester, the deadline might have passed or close to it, so I recommend you get on it ASAP. Depending not the college, you might or might not get credit for all the classes. The community college grades themselves will not be averaged into your state college GPA.
