I was rejected from NU's School of Communications for Radio/TV/Film and I am absolutely crushed. NU was my school, the only school I still want to go to. The Dean's letter said there is no appeals process, but do you think there is a way I can get the admissions office to at least consider deferring me to RD? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As I understand it, you cannot be moved into RD. NU doesn't defer for a reason: because it is 100% sure that it wants to reject those who are rejected.
Yet, nearly every school has an appeals process. I understand that you are unhappy, but I would think that very, very few, if any appeals are successful. If the appeals process was even occasionally successful, then NU would not have any consistency or legitimacy in its admission process.
Best of luck and remember: no matter what school you go to, you can find a home and have a great 4 years if you go in with an open attitude. NU was my 6th choice (6th!) at the time I applied. Now, I wouldn't be anywhere else.

No. Sorry :( But to add to Cerebral's post: NU was my 10th choice!!! (Out of 11). IF I coudl go back and apply ED, I would. There was no better fit. Don't be afraid of where life leads you!

briteneonluv,

you can always try transferring and nu takes relatively (compared to other top schools) large number of transfers every year. bunch of CC members got in as transfers.
