Rejected ED, help me decide where to go

Got rejected from Stanford ED, help me figure out my opportunities please.

SAT
Verbal: 770
Math : 740
Writing: 640

SAT II
math II: 750
chem : 770

I'm in the top 10% of my school, and my GPA has gone up each year, from a 3.8, to a 4.2, to a 4.4, to a 4.6 weighted on a 4.5 scale. Basically freshman year I did poorly, but have gotten all As since then. I took 3 honors courses freshman year, 3 honors courses sophomore year, 1 AP and 2 honors courses junior year, and now senior year i'm taking 3 APs and 1 honors course

APs: Ap Chem (5), now taking BC calc, Economics micro and macro, and Biology.

ECs: Varsity Crew-3 years-co-founder of my rowing club senior year, competed nationally, wrote my essay about it.
Vice President of FBLA 10th through 12th grade
Boy Scout of America, was once troop leader, Life scout working on Eagle

Works: Worked at a boy scout summer camp 10th and 11th grade

Rec's: Above average, I knew my English teacher for 3 years, and my guidance counselor was there in the hospital when I was born (close family friend).

Essay: Average

I live in Connecticut, and go to a fairly well known Fairfield County public school.

My colleges are:

UCLA
USC
Wash U. (legacy)
Cornell
Cal
Northwestern

Got into U.Mich already

Where do I end up? My first choice is UCLA, but I'm OOS.

Help? Please

i say u got great chances for NU, Cornell, and Wash U, all of those schools. USC ur in by a mile. UCLA and Berk, great chances as well, but UCLA is really picky with out of state dudes.

USC: Match
UCB/UCLA: Match (maybe be a Slight Reach since you're OOS, but much closer to Match than Slight Reach)

millertime3250:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)

UCB/UCLA Stretchymatch. It's hard for OOS-ers!

Though there's no reason to decide now--all of the schools are worth applying to. See what happens! ^^

U Michigan is a great school--no need to worry. Good Luck with the others.

I visited UCLA last year. The tour guide said that they like applicants that have overcome an obstacle. You're going to get big points off for your Fairfield county background. Look elsewhere.

Wash U seems certain as a legacy and I'd go there way before I'd pay UCLA $40K to be in classes with 400 kids and take 5 years to graduate. Seems that the college counselor should be at your side again, telling you that you have much better choices o your list. Maybe $40K for Cal if your going to work like a dog and make the business program.

...Nah. I think you should apply to UCLA anyway. Your scores are pretty good and if your essay is well-written, you don't need to worry about that.

Apply where you like, but I think it's within your "opportunities."
