rejected everywhere

Wow, I think that's the first time someone's quoted me and it wasn't to criticize what I said.

wow, how do you people have over 1400 SAT scores and not getting into stanford and all these schools? do you guys have any ec?

even if you have millions of ec's it takes more than that to get into a school like stanford.

i dunno, even if you only had one or 2 million EC's, you could probably get in anywhere you wanted.

haha hikkifan, obviously it was an exaggeration. but kali4niagrl25, it takes a lot more than 1400+ to get into an elite university like stanford. most of the applicants have at least a 1400.

obviously, lol

:D yeah over 1400 means little if there's no meat on your app - like EC's and good essays, and good recs.

so you can score well on a test - who gives a bibble?

btw, not all my stuff is ripped off of the simpsons.

i agree with u buddyy

"so you can score well on a test - who gives a bibble?"

isn't that what you do in college?

haha im not criticizing, i know there is pleny more to college than tests, but there are plenty of people on the board who say "test scores arn't that important". Well last time I checked you take a lot of tests in college.....

standardized testing is a lot different than normal tests in college or hs

scuba steve and awakenedream comments - very true.

do any of you rejected-everwhereians plan to transfer? I do.

thehammerspake, you aren't alone, i will go to this school next year and try to transfer next year. and to the comment about not having meet on ECs and Essays, i completely agree with that.
and i had lower scores, so my rejections were inevitable lol
i was just trying my luck

Some schools (even reputable ones) have a semi-unknown third round of admissions. There's an article about it in the November 2003 edition of the Atlantic Monthly.

thank god for the people who just try their luck ;) . Because of them, acceptees can feel artificially better about geting accepted over FIFTEEN THOUSAND or TWENTY THOUSAND applicants.

Haha i never thought about it that way. thats really coool. princeton, i love you.

hthehammerspake: i've already made an appointment with someone on the usc admission staff so we can figure out what i need to do next year to transfer to usc the year after. (they told me about this on my rejection letter which is pretty cool) Don't let rejection letters from the school you want to go to stop you from going there.

that's really nice of you, kali4nigrl25. and please share your information with us after you talk to the admission staff. that will be helpful for all of us who plan to transfer.

Flavius, same happened to my best friend. He went to Colby, got a 4.0, and transferred to Dartmouth. Lots of cases like this. I transferred from Columbia to Dartmouth, and it was amazing. Transferring is a real option for you, and you are likely to be very successful.

I'd make sure your schools guidance dept. sent the right transcripts, test scores, etc. A good friend of mine figured out after 2 years at state school that his hs sent the wrong information to Brown, G-town, etc. If that's not the case I'd def. have someone else look at your application; there is no reason for that level of rejection w./ your stats.
