Please Flavius, you act like going to BC Honors is the end of the world. I might choose there over two much higher-ranked schools I got into. The honors students who I met @ Admitted Eagle Day seemed nice, friendly, and interested in learning. I think BC's honors program is what you make of it but it seems like a very interesting approach to the college's Core.

"I'd make sure your schools guidance dept. sent the right transcripts, test scores, etc. A good friend of mine figured out after 2 years at state school that his hs sent the wrong information to Brown, G-town, etc. If that's not the case I'd def. have someone else look at your application; there is no reason for that level of rejection w./ your stats."

"That's shane brainard's transcript"
"And you are?"
"shaun brumder..."

i know someone who is turning down BC for non-honors BU.

Flavius--The Honors program at BC is excellent. It is not a safety school, and hasn't been for a while! The number of applicants is constantly increasing, and the Admissions Office has excellent students to pick from, thus making it so much more competitive. Congratulations on your acceptance! Our D loves the professors, the campus, access to Boston, sports and is very challenged by her courses and her peers.

Good luck, and remember that the wisdom you have gained from your experience will help you recognize that you are responsible for achieving the goals you set for yourself. It takes a mature person to recognize what they might have done better--so you are very likely not going to let that happen again!

There are many schools with rolling admissions that are still accepting applications:
University of Pittsburgh
Penn State- University Park (says online not accepting apps, but they still are)
Rutgers University
Michigan State University
Purdue University
Embry Riddle
and many more...

Also, if you call schools they may still be accepting applications. My friend called WPI at the beginning of April, sent in the application a few days later, and got in around a week or so later. turns out he's going there (he was in lafayette as well but preferred wpi to lafayette).

Flavius- BC honors is definitely an amazing place. Good luck with you're future endeavors (from reading you're little paragraph a couple pages ago about your intelligence.... maybe you were a little over-confident with college applications? Also, what were your ECs? And remember, these universities have TONS of people to pick from that are intelligent. They don't necesarily need to pick the guy that the counselor says is smart... considering theres also a billion others out there. (at least your caliber schools).

And to the OP.. I still can't believe Buffalo and NYU didn't accept you. Thats pretty shocking. But college admissions isn't the end of the world. Rock on!
