Rejected from UCI, now how to appeal...

Hey guys,
I got rejected from UCI this morning, but I seriously believe that I deserve to go.
I declared as a psych major and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to appeal?
Do I send them a strongly worded email saying that I should get in because blah blah blah?
Or ?

Also, if there were any students who got into UCI because of appealing, then please share you knowledge and wisdom :3

Thank you!

Sorry to heard that, but I don’t think its worth to appeal…because the success rate is roughly 3 percent last year

[Appeal Information](<a href=“Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI”>Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI)

^go there for info, you need to send physical mail. If you don’t have any new+compelling information not included in your original application then it’s probably useless to appeal.

If you really want to go to uci , appeal.

Even if its 3% chance , it’s a chance.

If you don’t appeal you have a 0% chance anndd you may regret it in the future. :<

Good luck !!

I too would like to know what a good subject for appeal is Dx

the success rate was actually about 40-50% last year… because UCI underenrolled by 1,000 california residents.

make sure you have something to seriously change the admission officers’ decision. GOOD LUCK!!! i’m appealing too.

For the “new and compelling info” are you allowed to put awards you received between the time you submitted your application and now? or is it only awards that you could’ve sent in with your original app

@TheShowGoes0n, I think aznboyivan’s strategy is to discourage as many people as possible with statistic from writing a letter of appeal, so his chances goes up. As cynical as it seems, it is kind of smart.

@thediablo56, I think you are right!

@TheReelThing - That’s the point, put the awards you received between the app deadline and now. If anything, those may sway admissions more than what you could’ve sent in originally.

I respectfully suggest you move on.

You got rejected. UCI gets many more applicants than they can accept.

They didn’t take you.

Rejection is part of life. Get used to it. Girls. Jobs. Colleges. Grad Schools.

Saying that “I really really want to go to your school” is not grounds for appeal".

Half the people on CC will probably be rejected at their top choice.

Last year, my son was waitlisted at his top choice.

No harm in trying though.

Also, you can also try to transfer in.

I agree. The only basis I see for an appeal is if you/family suffered from an extreme illness or tragedy.
