Does anyone know the percentage of freshmen appeals that UCI accepts each year? I really would like to attend, but I'm scared that they may not accept a lot. And does a significant accomplishment that was achieved in my sophomore year, but left out of my application a valid reason to appeal? Thanks for your help (:

I believe roughly 3% (Read from a post). Appeals require NEW information.

Is something that I left out of the application considered new ? I heard that we can put a reason in that we forgot to put in during the application process. thanks!

It is but it has to be a good enough reason for UCI to consider changing their decision (which if you forgot to put it on your application I’m guessing might not be). Usually the appeal rate is around 5%. It’s up to you. You can appeal but really don’t count on it working.

kind of bad news. we have a family friend who is an admin counselor at irvine and this is what she told us: basically, as far as appeals go due to the extra economic budget deficits posed on the UC systems they are pretty much ruling out all appeals for consideration because they have no room for anyone else. so even if they didnt recieve your orginal course, appealing the decision will not really help at all because the appeals are virually ignored this year. it sucks i know. hope this helped alot of people and saved them alot of necessary time. sorry :(
