Rejected Ross Pre-admit, what classes should I take?

So like the title says, I was rejected as a Ross pre-admit. I’m going to orientation soon to sign up for classes, but since I’m in LSA, I have no idea what classes to take. Do I take easy general studies to boost my GPA to try to get into Ross for the normal admissions? Or should I take more business classes to get in? Do I even get that much of a choice? Help!

@angelafkindles You’ll meet with a peer advisor and an academic advisor to talk about your options in terms of classes to take for Ross. With that being said, as long as you take the pre-reqs (Econ 101, Calc 1 or 2 (AP counts), and a First-Year Writing Course) and maintain a good GPA, you’ll have a great shot. Look into taking other quantitative classes in addition to Calc and Econ (i.e. Stats, Calc III, etc.) if you feel the need to. There are some classes available through Ross that First Year students can take if they have sophomore standing in terms of credits (which I believe is 30) that students can take to show their interest in business (but is by no mean the standard or required).

And also, please do look into the “what if” Ross doesn’t pan out. I’ve seen way too many kids put all their eggs in one basket and then don’t get into Ross and are left with the “Well now what” aftershock. You don’t need to go to Ross to go into business, so think about what you might want to major in if Ross were not to pan out (and believe it or not it doesn’t have to necessarily be Econ), and take some classes during your first year related to that subject.
