D. rejected. Still waiting on Pomona and Scripps.

rejected. i actually dont care in the least haha.
its too expensive anyway.

annak,

CMC offers excellent financial aid. In fact, it is one of the top 10 LACs for its aid packages, if I'm not mistaken.

wow, spartan, i'm pretty shocked at that, honestly. good luck in your other colleges!

not if your parents look really wealthy on paper but actually cant spend anything near what their projected contribution to my college education could be....

Thanks acadec. I'm lookin at bad odds though, i guess i can already kiss pomona goodbye

not necessarily. every adcom is different. maybe someone over there loved your essay, while they hated it at CMC.

haha me too spartan. if i cant get into CMC hooow am i gonna get into pomona? where else did you apply/get accepted?

Got into my state school and USC. Rejected at Duke and waitlisted at Rice and CMC. Still waitin on Dartmouth, Stanford, Harvard, Pomona. But I guess I know what to expect now.

Rejected. :(

3.67 UW GPA
Top 10%
34 ACT
780 USH, 760 Math II, 740 Physics SAT II's
Football, Lacrosse, NHS (vice pres.), Quiz Bowl (co-captain, Team MVP), some other volunteering

A rejection or waitlist at CMC does not necessarily mean a rejection at Pomona. In fact, Pomona has a higher acceptance rate.

Colleges don't always look for the same type of student. CMC and Pomona are both top schools, but that is not to say you can't be rejected at one and accepted at the other.

Spartan, what state are you from? Don't give up! You can still get into an amazing school. I got waitlisted from CMC and got into WashU so this proves that admissions are unpredictable. I guess it's especially hard to get in from out-of-state because CMC has 50% Californians, and if they accepted 800 applicants this year, only 400 are from out-of-state, and there are 49 other states. So an average of less than 10 acceptances from every other state. I'm guessing that in a big state like New York (where I live) there were about roughly 20 acceptances?

Washington.

Rejected - very disappointed; this was the one reach school I thought (hoped) I could get into.
SAT - 2170
ACT - 31
UGPA - 3.92

spartan, im from washington too/got rejected
my stats arn't as impressive as yours but i totally agree with whoever said you can write your way into cmc

of the 7 or so people at my high school that applied, one girl got accepted.
absolutely not the cmc type. she beat me by 150 on the sat but i have her in every other category (including leadership/business) and she got in over me. i know that she is a very strong writer though.
BTW
she also enrolled at UW an hour or so after being accepted by cmc. She had no interest in going at all. makes me so angry. on top of that i was waitlisted at pitzer on monday and she found out today that she also got into pitzer. i want to strangle her!

cmc was my dream school : (

My daughter ws rejected as well.

4.68gpa/4.0 ugpa

oh well....luckily it was not her first choice....I hear it was a very talented class this year

Spartan, are you from Skyline? I am surprised with your profile, you did not get into CMC. My son attends Issaquah High and was accepted ED. He took a lot of time with his essays and short answers and some of his rec letters were pretty strong. When you say AP do you mean IB? Had you visited the school and done an on campus interview? Maybe they thought the likelihood of you going some place else was strong. Hard to know in these matters.

all these things make me want to cry.. i'm applying in the fall and most of you guys have way better stats than me!!

i know, me too lol stay strong
