Rejectees- where are you going instead?

For me it's either University of Michigan or Carnegie Mellon. Getting rejected never felt so relieving.

Case Western, not sure.

I too was rejected from Georgetown...

I also got a ton of grant money to go to BU though.

Still waiting on Tufts and NYU... I'm leaning toward Tufts if I get in, although the money at BU is tempting. I also haven't heard anything from Columbia, but I don't think I'm getting in there.

when u email /call school to ask why you get rejected, how do they know? i mean is it on ur app why/

most likely NYU- it's expensive as hell, but I figure you only live once... if not then PSU

I'm deciding between GaTech, CMU, and Illinois for EE.

Will visit Tech next month-ish.

kingroger- usually they will put you in touch with the admissions officer from your area, he/she will remember why you were rejected after looking at your file...are you planning to ask? i would like to know too but i don't think i'm going to ask

Depending on my letters still coming (ND and Yale), my preference would be ND. I really love Notre Dame and it has always been my #1 choice.. and after I got my acceptance at Mich NU wasn't really in the running any longer. I'm not overly confident that I'll get in... but Mich is a great fall back school nonetheless. If I am rejected from both ND and Yale, Mich is my most likely school.. although I've been accepted to 5 others, haha.

mhawk,

You might want to consider the difference in faculty quality between ND and Michigan:

<a href="http://books.nap.edu/html/researchdoc/appendix_h.html%5B/url%5D">http://books.nap.edu/html/researchdoc/appendix_h.html</a></p>

If you are going to do Philosophy or Religion, then ND is pretty high (16th & 12th), but otherwise they have no other Humanities departments in the top 60. They have no social sciences in the top 40, no engineering depts in the top 20 (highest are 24th & 25th), no physical sciences in the top 40, and no biological sciences in the top 70.

Michigan is usually in the top 25 for most departments and often in the top 10.

Emory....., Northwestern was my fourth choice anyways. I only applied there because the school waived the $65 application fee.

as for the rejection... i'm glad to finally know. a little annoying because i made time to go for an alumni interview with an NU alum but the rejection itself wasn't so annoying as the fact that they put acceptances/waitlists first( i know it was probably unintentional but annoying anyway). as for the rejection, after i wasn't chosen to interview for HPME( 7 year med through NU) in January, i didn't think i had much of a chance...as for where i'm going next year, ( or should I say this summer) NEOUCOM. It's a combined med program in ohio and its NOT 40K a year. I'M GONNA BE ONE KICKA** DOCTOR. JUST WAIT.

Congratulations on your acceptance to NEOUCOM, monstercheese; it's an excellent and well-known program.

Will be going wesleyan :)

hey monstercheese, good for you! i'm going pre-med at wash u and i hear the program is crazy hard but it has an awesome reputation so i'm gonna study my butt off and when i make it through, i'll get into medical school! hi-yah!

damn u monstercheese lol, i got rejected from neoucom. But thats ok cause im going to MICHIGAN YEAH! I'm gonna go the "premed" track over there 2 even though so many people say I'm takin the hard route but i love michigan so i dont care, ill work at it. maybe ill see u 2 in a hospital sometime, meeh lol.
