Is getting a full scholarship from the ministry of higher education (international) a good enough reason to ask for a reconsideration, after being rejected from brown (my dream school)?....I know I should just "accept the rejection" but I also feel like maybe the adcoms didnt fully understand my situation (my school is worse than an inner city HS in the US.....no clubs.....no APs.....theft....rampant discrimination...etc....etc).....but of course i played the negativity down, because ppl dont like all that dark stuff :)....I applied as a US citizen (it's complicated). What do u guys think, should I even bother?

Go ahead and try. You have nothing to lose except your time and effort.

But the reality is that what some schools are willing to provide full rides for, other schools might not even admit. Doesn't mean that you aren't an excellent applicant for all schools considered - it just means that the schools had different priorities and have offered admission (and money) based on those priorities.

but how do i go about asking for a reconsideration? should i call? send them a letter?

go with a letter 1-3 pages long. Don't get you hopes up though. Unless they have a set procedure for appeals they don't grant many appeals.

besides the scholarship i will get.....should i explain my situation thoroughly?

In all honesty, it probably won't do any good at a school like brown.
