Rejection sign?

Also I believe “FAFSA received” and “FAFSA downloaded” might be 2 separate things…I really dont know.

Mine is listed as Not Received. Maybe I should call the office tommo to check and ask if they only download CSS of those who are accepted.

When did you send in your fafsa?

@Harmenszoon…maybe that lady in the financial aid office had a tongue slip and shouldn’t have revealed that, or maybe she just wanted to get the annoying applicant (me) off the phone, who really knows.

Oh gosh… I called in February sometime.

Is there a difference between downloaded and received?

That still seems really weird to me. According to the rumors, most Ivies were making admissions decisions up until yesterday. If they wait until they accept a student before downloading the FAFSA and making a financial aid decision, that leaves them basically NO time. Maybe that lady misspoke.

According to my Columbia friend, they have mostly finished making decisions three weeks ago and have gathered some Columbia students to write postcards to include in the acceptance package…

@lionhopeful…I hope i didn’t ruined your night by telling you what the financial aid lady said to me. I hope that the “not received” showing up on your page do not mean anything. I am sorry if I ruined anyone night by stating what they told me…just remember that nothing is 100%, because after all… the decisions are not released yet.

This is what I guessed in the first place :(

If this was a common practice, don’t you think someone else in a previous admissions cycle would have observed it by now?

I’m an international student and only from this year do we have to send CSS profile. I hope that the fin aid office are too busy processing applications and forget to change these status in the checklist page.
I heard that there will be another day for current students to write postcard for admitted students so maybe there will be making decisions until d- day, hopefully.

I don’t know how much this’ll help, but I was accepted ED and I can tell you that I received the URC’s congratulatory postcard as a separate piece of mail about a week after the acceptance package came.

did u guys recieve E-mails from financil office in early March asking you to send the missing items?

I got an email on March 1st reminding me that all materials should have been submitted by then. I’m pretty sure it was sent to everyone who applied for financial aid.

Do most people have their FAFSA listed as “recieved” for “disbursement” on the checklist? If its like that for most people, then I think we can assume that downloaded and received are two different things and what is listed on the checklist as of now has nothing to do with the admissions decision…

My FAFSA is “received” for “packaging” as of 2/17/10.

The message section on the Fin Aid site has gone missing. Anyone else?

It’s not there for me either, and I think a couple other people on this thread said the same thing.

Ok good:) The first thing that poped in my head was OMG I rejected!
My stress is really taking over.
