Rejection

So i was rejected from JMU, and to be honest, I'm not exactly upset about it. It was a last minute decision based on advice from a family friend and I had never heard of the school. I was a bit surprised though to hear that I was flat out rejected though - if I had been accepted, I probably would have visited and liked it a lot.

What are some other schools that JMU is comparable to academically? Were many students flat out rejected because I didn't see any hear on the forums?

Thanks :)

I am waiting to hear. Just curious. What were your stats?

Admissions could probably tell it was done last minute. If you scrape together an essay, it doesn’t reflect well on you, and if anything else wasn’t up to par academically (SATs, GPA, course difficulty), then it didn’t help you.
Sorry to hear that, but understand that doing apps at the last minute shows through in the applications. If you weren’t really interested and hadn’t visited, I would’ve recommended you didn’t apply. But that’s my opinion. Good luck with your other admissions decisions, best wishes.

JMU, is quite a popular school. JMU is on par with Virginia Tech, each are highly competitive. JMU, is known for its business, education and creative arts & theater, science.
I am a current Virginia Tech student and transferring to JMU this fall. Best wishes to your admissions.
