Hi! I have recently applied to four summer programs. Three are finished, and I am still in the application process for the 4th one. I have received results for two, and I was rejected and chosen as an alternate. I’ m not upset or angry, but really sad; it really set off a sort of slump. The third one, which I am still waiting for, has been an dream for me for a while. I really can’t deal with the wait and possible rejection. Lately, things have not been going my way (I bit off more than I can chew), so what should I do?
I completely get what you’re going through. (Applied to 6, heard back from three, rejected from two.) But the most important point is to realize that you can’t let your summer camps determine your happiness. Sure, it’s great to get in, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t.
I’d focus on finishing the fourth application and then focus on what you can control: grades, extracurriculars, having fun
There’s so much to do during the summer! I’m sure you will find something fulfilling and worthwhile.
Thank you! Good luck in all your applications!
