Rejections?

Has anyone been rejected yet? If not, is Binghamton only sending out the rejections this month?

They do it in waves. If they received your completed application after a certain date(I don’t know what date), you will get a decision in march. If it was before that date, February. I’m sure there have been rejections but, generally on this site, you will find good students. I know about a few deferrals but no rejections. If I end up being rejected, I most likely won’t say so on this site, and I’m sure there are many students with me on that.

Thanks for that information. I was deferred to regular consideration after applying early action (by mid November). A lot of people in my school applied early action. Some were deferred but now have been accepted. A whole bunch of other people were deferred and haven’t heard anything, like me. Any idea of what that means to those of us who haven’t heard anything since being deferred?

They’re probably waiting to see if there are “more qualified” applicants to admit. If not, you should be admitted. Of course, I have no real basis for thinking that… just seems logical to me.

@whichwillitbe, I’m on the same boat with you :frowning: I got deferred from Harpur and I was so confident I would get in because I had good stats and it was my top choice. The wait is killing me. I want to cry a little whenever I find someone who applied RD and already got in. :frowning: Sort of unfair that they’re waiting for more qualified applicants to come. Like come on, we clearly are more interested if we applied EA. D:

@sliang, yeah, I don’t love the Bing’s admissions process. For all the other schools I applied to I received notification of acceptance/rejection at the same time as every one else. Bing’s way --some people knowing and others not knowing – is brutal. I did hear yesterday that a kid at my school who applied EA was just rejected (via email). So maybe no news is good news??

I applied regular decision on December 22, 2011 and have yet to receive a rendered decision. I’m a little nervous, but since Bing sends decisions out in ‘waves’, I’m just going to play the waiting game. Good luck to those who applied both RD and ED!
