Release date of RD admission decisions

The January start program is for a select amount of students (I believe its about 500 if I recall correctly) that qualify for NU, but just don’t qualify as much as fall admitted students. With the numerous amount of students that do the co-op program, there’s constantly a number of students that are going on and off campus all the time during semesters (that’s why jan-start students go during the spring)

So, with that said, it’s basically a way to get well qualified students on campus but just one semester later.

I hope that all makes sense, haha.

If NU is your number one choice, I’d still recommend going there even if it is one semester later. No one will know that your a spring admit, especially with a bunch of students doing co-op and stuff. Plus, NU is a great school.

I spoke to my college counselor about the spring admission program. Being admitted in the spring does not necessarily mean you are less qualified than the students offered fall admission. Schools will sometimes January admit, refuse, or waitlist students that they think won’t attend. So if you were offered January admission don’t feel like you are less qualified, because you could possibly be overqualified.
