if they do it like the did ed they won’t start releasing till I think 3? and then it lasted till 9…but i’m not sure.

really? i’d think they’d release them in the morning if it says that you currently cant check your app status…

thats a good point…maybe we will get them earlier!!

DD just called me from her school’s guidance office–confirmed that she can’t check her status, and she could last night. I just want it to be over with, lol, as it’s hands down her first choice and we are pretty sure she won’t get in. Applied for physical therapy and her admissions counselor was pretty frank when the EA deferral came that she needed to switch her major to get in–while she’s “definitely admitable” to the university, P/T is just too competitive. She said they will probably accept fewer than 10% of applicants this year. As the mom, my job is to have the tissues and chocolate chip cookies ready, lol!

ctreelmom, no matter which way the decision goes for your DD, she’s lucky to have a good and supportive mom in her corner!

ctreelmom - we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for your D!!!

Aww, thanks you guys. It’s hard, as we both went “this is it” when we visited NEU the first time. She hit it off so well with the head of the p/t program and the current students. As a mom, I felt like I would have been comfortable enough to drop her off right then and there.

We knew it would be a stretch for her but she loved it so much, she was willing to apply with both eyes open. I told her she could “waste” one application on a dream, and this was it. What’s unfortunate is that you have to enter P/T as a freshman–no option to go in as, say, a biology major and then switch in or even transfer from another college or university. I support her decision not to change her application though. She’s as sure as she can be at 17 that she wants to be a physical therapist, so why settle for something else?

Best of luck to the rest of you who will hopefully get good news later today!

ctreelmom-- I sympathize because my DS is in the same boat with architecture major-- it’s either acceptance as a freshman into the program or not at all (and it’s that way with all of his schools).

@0000001
They didn’t release decisions until the afternoon for EA.

Acme, that makes it hard, doesn’t it? And, I’ll really be surprised if D doesn’t change her major at least once as an undergrad. Do you think your son will stick with architecture? Not sure how they can really know at this age.

ctreelmom, I agree-- how can they know at 17? But that’s his focus for now and nothing has dissuaded him from it…

I understand, my D is applying for engineering and has known for years that was what she wanted. Granted she can apply to general here but for some schools she’s had to pick a specific branch of engineering and we’re hoping she ends up where she can learn the ins and outs a bit more before picking a specific one even though mechanical is right now where her heart is. I’m rooting for both of your kids though! It’s so hard when it’s such a specific major and so competitive!

I applied for engineering too and i was deferred and I have a 4.0GPA; so anxious to hear decision!!

they started at 3:00 for ed…so hopefully they start soon!!

I hope so too. D has been waiting to hear from NE. I went to look at their website to see if there was any info. about being released and it looks like the home page was changed (and not for the good). Before the info. was all right there and its not now. Looks kind of odd so I’m not sure if they changed it or maybe its my computer!

The homepage has been changed for a little while now - Im guessing just for an update. But hopefully they’ll release the decisions soon!! I’m dying of anticipation!

applied EA, got deferred… and just got my decision, accepted! yayyy!

it’s up!!!

I’m guessing a lot of people are madly checking their status right now…

AHHHH mines not up yet!!
