hey. i go to a catholic private highschool and i was thinking of asking one of my religion teachers Fr.so and so for a college recomendation. he's not a Roman Catholic priest so he is more "normal"( not like Catholic priests aren't normal just more like a lay person i geuss.) since he is married n stuff and is generally a cool guy. But ne wayz the question is if i got a letter of recomendation from him would colleges not look/be like it doesn't matter as much because he is ordained? He said he has written plenty of recomendations (past seniors say he's one of the best in the school for doing them) and only one school, i forget what one at the moment, sent it back because he was a priest and it was like 12 yrs ago. what do you think?

i'm sure colleges understand that most faculty at catholic high schools are ordained. they probably won't care.

I'm a little confused. Is he a priest who left the clergy? Or is he a like a reverend from a different denomination that allows marriage?

regardless, it doesn't matter. as long as he's taught you you're fine.

he's actually Ukrainian Orthodox so you can get married

It doesn't matter. Go right ahead.
