Remedial courses affect transfer GPA

I had to take two refresher remedial math courses my first year at CC, I got a C in one. I do not receive college credit for the classes, however, they are included in the GPA.

When I transfer, I realize that these classes will be shown on the transcript, but they hold no value at my next college. My question is, do institutions usually count remedial courses towards your transfer GPA, or do they disregard them all together?

That C is the only C I’ve gotten in 4 semesters, and it does have quite a drastic effect on my GPA.

Each place sets its own policy about this kind of thing. It is perfectly OK for you to ask them.

When I transferred from a CC to a state university, my remedial class did not show up and the grade was not calculated into my transfer GPA.

Usually in Texas, developmental classes aren’t transferable and will not count towards a credit at a university.
