UCR policy states: "No events are to admit new first year students until the Friday following the first full week of classes." This means first years cannot attend off campus parties that are held by active UCR student organizations until October 5, 2012. This includes parties held by (active) fraternities or other orgs.

If you're caught, which is rare but not impossible, you and the organization will get in trouble, which is not a good way to make friends. This is to get you guys used to "college life" and so that none of our organizations have a risk management issue with a freshman.

This also a huge thing for those planning to join a fraternity or sorority, mainly those governed by IFC or CPA. IFC fraternities are now no longer allowed to pledge first quarter students, so 99% of you unaffiliated males wouldn't be allowed in, unless the fraternity really likes you, which can also be considered dirty rushing. As for CPA, sororities are watching girls planning on joining. No sorority wants to pledge a freshman who is drunkenly running around a party, puking, hooking up with every guy in the room, etc. I also know these sororities are looking at your social media sites, so take down anything you would want a 109 year old woman seeing.

No one cares or enforces this. In the event that you are caught, and are stupid enough name yourself as a UCR student, you get a slap on the wrist. But again, no one cares or enforces this. Don’t blow this up and think it’s a huge thing. It’s extremely miniscule. The only time they’ll enforce this policy is if you’re underage and disturbing the peace. You have to be really *faced or a total assbag for them to give two *s about this.

Dude, I know it’s not a huge thing. My main thing was informing the people who plan on joining IFC or CPA (I know absolutely nothing about the other fraternities/sororities). It is more of a serious thing for them, especially the girls who want to rush. Also, I just hate seeing annoying ass freshmen at my parties, or any party in general. Even though I was a freshman last year, the majority of them still annoy the crap out of me.
