Hi, everyone! I am a rising senior and I am very interested in taking part in research this summer. As you all know, many research programs have been canceled or taken to a virtual platform in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. I still want to take part in research this summer and have been searching for opportunities to do so. My first question is if there are any reputable research programs (a few have been springing out of nowhere lately…) out there that still have applications open. I realize there is a low possibility of this, so my plan is to cold email professors/researchers in order to find an opportunity. Do you all have any pointers on how to approach this given that I would be looking for a remote research opportunity? If anyone has been successful in this approach, I would highly appreciate your tips!!
Just in case it helps, I don’t have any prior research experience or any noteworthy competition distinctions
