Is it worth going to RPI over Rutgers if RPI will cost $7000 more a year than Rutgers?

maybe. if you really like RPI and are not concerned about the weather or the architecture or the gender ratio–things that deterred my S–you can probably repay that EXTRA $28K pretty quickly as an EE. Still, it’s an EXTRA 325 a month for 10 years if you don’t choose to attack it. you can afford it on your salary if you’re not already borrowing to pay for school.

Please note @jkeil911’s words - "you can afford it on your salary if you’re not already borrowing to pay for school ". If you’re already borrowing for school it’s probably not worth it since your serviceable debt goes up from what is already a pricy car payment.

Thanks for the input guys

Also Rutgers is a comprehensive University so if you have interests outside of engineering you will have more opportunities there.
