Repeating 9th Grade and Lower tier Boarding Schools

I am looking to repeat my freshman year and was wondering some good lower tier schools to apply to. I was rejected by Taft, Andover, Exeter, and Middlesex last year and was looking for some easier schools to get into. Since my sister got into boarding school last year, I have noticed that almost everyone is rich and plays a sport except for maybe a small percentage who are geniuses. I am receiving good grades in all honors classes and my gpa is around 3.75. Nonetheless what are some lower tier boarding schools that have an above average student body.
Note that I am looking to reapply to Middlesex and apply for the first time to loomis. Any advice is appreciated.

Read through the “Hidden Gems” thread:

My son is at Wyoming Seminary. It is a great school with a very rigorous academic program and some great athletic and EC (e.g., internationally ranked Mock Trial). It is about half day students and many of the boarding students are international. My son did not think he would like that, but he got a full tuition scholarship, so that is where he ended up and he loves it.

It is academically challenging and the environment is very supportive without being crushing in terms of pressure.

Loomis is pretty good. Check out Deerfield. I go there now and all you have to do to get in is be a decently normal kid (not a freak show), interview well (important), and pull off B+s and As this year. If you’re good at anything special, then tell them. Two out of the three lax recruits in my grade, including me, are not even that good but just because we had a good portfolio to give to the coach, he recommended us and helped us get in. Also look at Governor’s Academy, Westminster, and Hotchkiss. You may not get into Hotchkiss but it’s worth a try. Westy is sick. Tons of city kids

I apologize for any offending remarks in my previous comment. Deerfield does not judge an applicant’s “normality” and sees all potential students with open minds. Deerifeld also doesn’t condone judgement of people’s normality. My comment was my opinion and was not connected to Deerfield. Again, I am sorry if it offended anyone.
