Is anyone familiar with a rep list being required for Musical Theatre majors? On the MPulse application for MT, it appears to be required because you can't leave it blank and continue on. Just curious if a rep list is typical for those auditioning for college programs. I have never seen it before and was a bit surprised -- seems somewhat redundant to the resume.

The resume wouldn’t typically list your repertoire. These are the songs that are in your book.

The only college program requesting a repertoire list that my D has applied to is Hartt.

I just heard back from the staff of MPulse. They have removed the requirement from the application. So, that saves that work right now, but looks like something we need to pull together to have on hand. Thanks for the comments.

As of a few years ago, Univ Mich required rep list for the MT college application.

To be clear this ONLY is for MPulse not the BFA application.

Michigan now only requires a rep list for Music majors; their website says that Dance, MT, and Theatre applicants are exempt.

It is something good to have in hand at college auditions. A menu if you will, that an auditor can choose to hear you sing from. You should have music for the songs in it case you are asked to sing more. You should also be mindful of songs that fit your type, but also a variety of musical styles and time periods, esp. the old and the contemporary. I realize this was not your initial question, but your comment that it sounds like something you should have (going in to senior year auditions) is right on.
