Replacing a W

(Dangit I have to retype this whole thing out! Thanks horrible school internet!)

Long story short, I need to drop a PE101 (2.0 units), get a W and then take PE101 (0.5 units) during the same semester and pass it.

Will my W be removed from my transcripts since it's the same class? Or will it be replaced but still be noted. It's a P/NP class and the only difference is the hours required for me to pass.

I will get a W for dropping 2.0 PE101 but I will still take 0.5 PE101.

Since a ‘W’ has never effected your grade in the first place, nothing will happen.
Your ‘W’ will still be there, and so will your new grade.

W’s are no big deal I have 42 W’s. Not kidding. I am an older student who started at community college in 1973 and I have over 200 units. I am transferring to UC Davis with a TAG and I have been told repeatedly W’s are not a big deal. So don’t worry about the W being there. It means nothing.

Wow. 42. Big number. Yeah I was going to meet with a counselor but I don’t have the time. And since it’s PE… and a P/NP class too.
