When it asks me to report grades, it has options such as A+, A, A-...
my school doesn't give out A+ or A-, only A's. So if I choose only the base letters (without the plus or minus) will it affect my gpa?

Input them exactly as they appear on your transcript. So, without the +/-.

UC’s equate A+ and A as the same; they’re equivalent to a 4.0. An A-, on the other hand, would be a 3.7. In all cases aside from the A+/A equivlance, base grades are given different amounts of credit than a base grade with a +/-. A “B” at UC will give you a 3.0, a “C” a 2.0, a “D” a 1.0, etc. If you’re school assigns gpa credit differently, then your gpa will change.

You probably selected the wrong option on the part of the application that asks you to add all of the CCs you went to. When you add the name of your CC there’s an option for which grading system they use, either letter grades with +/- or letter grades without +/-. I’m guessing you selected the +/- option by accident. You need to go back to that section and change it or your GPA will be calculated wrong.

there’s only one option and it says "Select ABCDF if your school uses ABCDF or ABCDF incl +/- letter grades. " so i chose that one because both grading systems are included
