Reporting other schools I'm applying to.

On the common app, my number one school requires me to report all the other colleges I am applying to.

I sent in supplements for a few colleges, but later decided I didn't want to apply and deleted them from my common app. Do I need to report these schools? (I don't even remember all of the supplements I had sent in.)

Also, can my number one college see the other colleges I have sent In supplements to? (I have not submitted the actual common app to these colleges.) I just don't want them to think I'm lying to them.

Basically, does sending in a supplement count as applying? I don't want my chances to be screwed because of this little mishap.

There are also a few more colleges on my common app that I wish to delete, but the remove this college button is not present like it was in all of the other colleges I deleted. Does anybody know of an alternative way to remove colleges?

Any help is appreciated.

Does anybody have an answer?

I also have the same question.

I’m not sure why schools ask for you to report your other applications, but I don’t think that they will know if you’ve sent in your application. They’re not going to contact each university in the country to see if you’ve applied there, and then repeat the process for every other applicant.

I think they probably do it for record-keeping purposes more than to hurt you. For example, if your stats are amazing and your applying to Harvard, they won’t reject you, but they’ll know that they shouldn’t count on your matriculating, and its probably safe to admit an extra student in the current class, thereby ensuring they have a full (but not overfull) freshmen class.

However, I could be wrong. Maybe admissions officers are really just out to get you and destroy your future. But I doubt it. =P

Haha. Thanks!
