<p>Zetes isn't a secret society though, just a selective frat. I believe their rush actually starts as sort-of open, you just have to be ridiculously wealthy to get in so it's not open in the general sense. On the bright side, they just took their pledges to Amsterdam for the weekend.</p>

<p>Rushing is not intense at all- no letters of recommendation. It's really based on your looks and personality, unless you're a legacy or have influential or REALLY wealthy parents.</p>

<p>Tridelt: If you think about the cheerleaders from your highschool that slept with just about everyone and drank their way through life – this is the college version. Known to be hot but catty. If you see someone on Locus with ugg boots, orange skin, and a massive hangover - it’s most likely a Tridelt. Generally blond and white. (Steady)</p>
<p>AXO: Party and go out quite a lot – not as much as the Tridelts. Many of these girls are athletes. The beer drinkers. A little more ethnically mixed then Tridelt too. Known for rotating the Penn Bar Circuit which has different bars for each night of the week. (*Gaining Popularity)</p>
<p>Theta: If you do coke, this is the sorority for you. They all generally look the same. Known for partying downtown more than on campus. The badasses. (*Steady)</p>
<p>SDT: If you are Jewish and a extremely girly – this is the sorority for you. Nice girls but a little gaudy in terms of what they wear. Only mix with Jewish Fraternities (which is actually a good number at Penn). Nice but not for everyone. Parties a good mix of on and off campus. (*Steady)</p>
<p>Sigma Kappa: Called by most on campus as the Tridelt rejects. Pretty girls without much personality. Appears to be gaining popularity and beginning to move up. Generally has mixers with good frats and has a rep for being “nice”. (*Gaining Popularity)</p>
<p>Chi Omega: Known around campus as your “girls next door”. Pretty girls, go out fairly often, apparently has a strong sisterhood. Mixers with good Frats. Tend to party at frats on campus rather than go downtown. (*Gaining Popularity)</p>
<p>Alpha Phi: Alpha Phi was once a very “girl next door” type of sorority but their most recent pledge classes have made the group extremely awkward and boring. Definitely on the downward trend, not as popular as it once was. Still known to be generally “nice” girls. (*Losing Popularity)</p>
<p>Phi Sigma Sigma: Not very attractive but have been said to have a strong sisterhood. Sweet girls but tend to have mixers with the less popular Fraternities. (*Steady)</p>
<p>I would also have to disagree with the other posts about a ranking system. I would say that their really isn’t a best and worst sorority, there are just some that party more, some are more into the drug scene, and others that aim to recruit the nice girls. It’s hard to pin point them down either because each pledge class moves the sorority in a different direction. It goes the same for the Frats - they are all so different and there are so many of them that you’ll find the right one for you. With sororities it is a little more competitive because there are fewer.</p>
<p>For sororities rush is the tiring and exhausting process. Everything from what you wear (shoes, clothes, ect) is marked down. Pledging generally isn’t as bad. Tridelt and AXO has a reputation for hazing. I’ve heard that Sigma Kappa and Chi O didn’t haze last year. Not sure about the others. Hope this helps!</p>

<p>When I first came into Penn, everyone was raving about the hot tri-delts, but last year’s pledge class was terrible… same goes for Alpha Phi. Since Phi Sig left campus, it appears that Alpha Phi will sort of take their place as the more awkward of the other sororities.</p>
<p>Chi Omega has been super on the rise, a lot of awesome sophomores & juniors. One of the most popular houses at rush last year. Sigma Kappa is also really popular, a lot of great girls. </p>
<p>SDT will always be for Jewish girls, but they seem super sweet. Ignore all of the rumors about Theta being super into drugs - they aren’t actually on crack, they just don’t eat. Almost emaciated looking. </p>

<p>Dude, i so don’t agree with you… Chi O has moved up a lot in the past two years - i would rate them higher than SK. Their sophomores are hot! I like A Chi O too, some really hot athletes. AChiO, SK, and ChiO are my top three. </p>
<p>I agree that DDD is absolutely uglier this year. Theta isn’t the hottest group on campus either anymore.</p>
<p>Bottom two are definitely alpha phi and sdt. Aphi is where phi sig was two years ago… awkward.</p>
<p>Does anybody have any more insight on this? I’m a freshman and I just went to the open houses this weekend, and I met really nice and friendly girls in every house. It seems like they all have a lot of great girls, and I liked everyone I talked to, but I didn’t get a very good idea of the personalities of each sorority…if anyone can tell me, that would be great! I don’t particularly care about rankings, I just want to know what type of girls each one attracts. People keep saying the descriptions on these threads are outdated, so I’m looking for more current info. Thanks :)</p>

<p>Tri-Delta: Pretty, blonde, and white. Attracts girls who party every night of the week, like to shop, and paint their nails. Primarily girls from the college who major in boys and booze. Did you see them at war of the roses? enough said… lol</p>
<p>Chi O: Pretty, outgoing, and fun. Attracts girls from a lot of different groups - dancers, nurses, cheerleaders, a few stylish whartonites, and girls from the college that love to go out… they party thursday-sunday but are the classy ones of the group. A mix of cute preppy girls who are a unique group.</p>
<p>Sigma Kappa: Attracts similar girls to Chi Omega, but not quite as outgoing. These girls are a little shyer, but not in an awkward way… They are very very very preppy, overwhelmingly so. Essentially they are nice, cute, and quiet. Nurses, art majors, that type of college girl.</p>
<p>AXO: Athletic, loud, & outgoing. They are beer drinkers. Attracts girls that play on sports teams or did in high school… for some reason I always think of women rugby players when people mention axo and i don’t know why. Primarily girls from the college and some from wharton.</p>
<p>Alpha Phi: Quieter girls, a little awkward but generally nice, vanilla. Attracts girls that are more likely to be studying alone in VP than out partying on campus… this isn’t necessarily a bad thing if it is what you are looking for. Nurses, girls in the college.</p>
<p>Theta: Skinny girls that wear a lot of eyeliner, leather, and black tights. Attracts girls that go out every day that ends in a “y” and by the end of the night are quite the hot mess. For girls that aren’t afraid to try anything to fit into the scene.</p>
<p>SDT: Attracts Jewish girls that are generally loud, a little flashy, but fun overall. Essentially if you are very Jewish - this is a good sorority for you. If you’re not, it’s not. Pretty simple. A lot of wharton and college girls.</p>

Tri-Delta: the usual tri-delt stereotype from other colleges doesn’t apply as much at penn. they’re all very pretty girls–some are super slutty and superficial, but there are also a lot of interesting and intelligent ones</p>
<p>Chi O: nice grils but developing a rep for trash-talking other sororities. pretty divided between the socialites and stay-at-homers. pretty enough, mix with decent frats. their house is absolutely gorgeous though.</p>
<p>Sigma Kappa: flies under the radar. they mix with good frats, but more of them end up dating one brother than hooking up with three. known for being classy, pretty, quiet, and super involved in other campus groups.</p>
<p>AXO: divided between the “a-chi-hos” and the “a-chi-bros.” very very fratty, super chill but also super energetic. sometimes criticized for being “too obsessed” with each other, but that also means they have a really close sisterhood</p>
<p>APhi: their upperclassmen are still those quiet-girl-next door types, but their most recent pledges classes have become slutty verging on outright trashy. a mix of pretty </p>
<p>Theta: very very very scene-y. openly flaunt their sense of superiority (and midriffs). individually, can be really lovely girls, but get crazy and coked out when in a group. easily identifiable.</p>
<p>SDT: yes–they’re the jewish sorority. they tend not to mix as much with the other sororities and non-jewish frats. really sweet, and pretty girls though. (and their house is awesome!)</p>
<p>ZTA: still new on campus and struggling to recruit members. a lot of zetas aren’t typical sorority girls, and were looking for campus involvement and leadership positions. don’t mix with frats too often.</p>
