"is w&m famous/well-reputed internationally especially in asia?"

Anyone want to try to answer that question?

My thought is that W&M is well-reputed in VA, the Atlantic seaboard, a little less in the U.S. as a whole, but it probably has a fairly low profile internationally, though probably not more than four or five US schools have a particularly high profile.

Actually i just heard this from my cousin who lives in Korea. She apparently watched some news network talking about the top unheard of colleges in America(unheard of to Koreans) and saw william and mary on the program. I thought that was interesting. But in Korea there are very few schools that most average koreans would know other than Harvard, Yale, MIT, and maybe UC Berkley.

well, i cant speak for other countries, but a large number of Chinese people (mainland chinese) have not heard of w&m. theres actually some phobia about the word "college" because there is a huge difference between a university and college there. that being said, many other people in China that I know have not heard of other "scrub" schools like UC-Berkeley, Northwestern, University of Chicago, and Dartmouth

As far as international reputation
i believe college of william and mary is not so popular in many Asian countries.
But you have to understand that only few big schools are popular in asian countries.
