Thanks guys

(i’m guessing you’re a freshman)

you can’t request roommates your freshman year. its random assignment based on preferences.

^ ? I’m pretty sure you can request roommates on your housing application. It’s just not guaranteed.

I think if you have know those people beforehand and have their UID you’re able to request them as roommates (both/the three of you will have to request each other). In terms of finding people… not too sure how you’d do that.

There’s currently no roommate search function for UCLA housing. If you already know someone who you want to be roommates with, then you can request to be roommates as long as you follow the instructions on the housing application to list the same exact preferences and include each other’s names and UIDs.

^really? I stand corrected. I thought the UID request applied to sophomores and above.

Regardless, random roommates is part of the college experience and helps you get out of your comfort zone so I highly recommend it
