Where do I find out what materials are required for my courses?

The easiest way to get all the required course materials: email your professor.

You can check by going to the Cal Bookstore’s website:
[Locate Course Materials](<a href=“Official Online Store”>Official Online Store)

or Ned’s Bookstore
[Welcome | Ned’s - Berkeley](http://www.nedsbooks.com/ucb/)

Go to the drop down, select Fall 2009, and then your class + section.

Hope that helps!

The Cal Bookstore and Ned’s will give you textbook names and may or may not show a picture of the cover, but I don’t believe they provide ISBN’s.

usually with the name of the text, author and a picture of the cover, you can figure out the edition on Amazon or other sites. Ned’s provides pictures for some but not all texts. Bookstore is more cagey about releasing any information to help you find an alternate source.

Are we supposed to get our materials before we get to the dorms? Is Neds/Cal Bookstore usually cheaper or more expensive than other online dealers?

Cal Bookstore and Neds are almost always more expensive and not just by a tiny amount either. One exception you will find is with bundles, where sometimes the bundle is less than the individual items at their lowest prices on the online sites.

I emailed one of my professors and she gave me a list of books that is different than the list shown in the student store or ned’s. what should I do? Should I assume that the list the prof gave me is the one I should follow?
