required foreign language!

ok is it just me, or is taking 3 years of foreign language a ridiculous requirement (for creative writing majors at least) to give out, if we already did foreign languages in high school for 3 years! gahhh

wow. 3 years of college foreign language would be really different though. you will be up to level 9 of ONE language!

you can test out of a year or two, if youre good enough all three!!

well, it’s still pretty awesome to be fluent though

eh, level 9 is pretty much fluency, isn’t it…

foreign language is a waste of time, i took two years of Spanish already, and now i look back and think, what do i need to talk to Mexicans for?

When you go to Mexico and order from a restaurant or ask for directions. lol

hola comustas no pesabas que the vas a escapar bea. a pero te aye

my spanish isnt the best, well written, but I use it in a daily basis.
I want to take arabic but they only offer two years of it

I took spanish for 3 years and i have no clue what you just said there. I knew taking spanish was waste of time

i SAID " How are you. Didi you think you were going to escape me? But I found you

Well, if you go to Europe, particularly France, and only know English, then you’re screwed

Besides, people in Spain speak Spanish, not just Mexicans, dur

I’m thinking about continuing spanish and learning japanese :D

true I am not mexican nor spanish and speak fluet spanish

I thought Mexicans speak Mexican

hahah yeah and canadians speak canadian

^^ LOL

it’s ok
i took 2 years of spanish and i didn’t learn anything
all i did was memorize the vocabs before a quiz
god i hate spanish…such bad memories

lol for the mexicans and canadians!

anyways, so its 3 years for the breadth reqs?

i heard about the testing out, thing maybe i should consider that. it would definitely save me alot of credits and time.

"what do i need to talk to Mexicans for? "

that’s probably one of the most ignorant post i’ve read in a while.

and i’m pretty sure most europeans understand english as well.

that’s just because english has become a universal language lol
it’s not because they realllllly want to learn it

and by universal, i mean teaching it throughout the world in schools

Has anyone taken French? Is it hard?

I took Spanish for 3 years in HS, but I didn’t like it and didn’t learn that much, and i’m thinking of starting a new language.

"what do i need to talk to Mexicans for? "

Hope that was satiric rather than an example of ignorance…
