Required Graded Academic Writing Sample ... What Should I Send In?

One of the colleges that I will be applying to requires the applicant to submit a graded writing sampling. I'm really unsure what to send in though. My intended major will be psychobiology so should I send in something my AP Psych or AP Bio class (I have AP Bio this year). Or should I send in something from my AP English Lang class? There was this research paper that I wrote about why the the SAT should be eradicated from the college admissions process; I received a 95. The college is SAT/ACT optional too, if that matters. Also, would a 95 from say my AP Eng class (or rather any AP class) look better than a 95 in a regular hrns course?

Thanks for any feedback.

A) yes definitely send the ap eng paper as the writing sample. Also, if the college is SAT/ACT optional, perhaps the topic of your paper somewhat corresponds. Not sure if that has anything to do with the actual sample but yeah.
B) yes a 95 in an ap class is without a doubt " better" than a 95 in a regular hrns course.

Thanks for the feedback!

I have a similar question- would it be wiser to send in something that you are most personally proud of and something that you believe reflects you better as a person, or a piece that you simply had more success with and got a better grade on?

Just being nosy, who requires those. You don't have to say if you don't want to reveal your college choices, I guess. I just always heard of that, but none of the applications I've looked at had that requirement.

IMO, I would think send the one that reflects you. Not only because of that, but if you had a lower grade, but the writing was good with few mechanical errors, it will look as if your teacher/school grades stricter (grade deflation). Makes gpa seem that much better.

Bard College has this requirement.

Do they want a copy of the paper with the teacher's comments and grade on it?

Middlebury, I believe?

Oh, I didn't know that. I don't want to distract away from OP's original post (OP's OP seemed weird.)

Well in my case, Wheaton College in MA. And they require something research and analytical based, so no creative writing is allowed. But yes, the teacher's comments and grade are required

I think you should send the paper that you think exhibits the strongest writing.
