Requirements for British Universities

Hello,

I want to know what are the requirements for the universities around England, more exactly in London. Also i wonder if there is any school average grades in order to me admitted in these universities.

Thank you.

British universities don’t really care about your grades. They are much more interested in standardized test scores. For American students that’s typically AP scores (in specific subjects, depending on the major your apply to) and maybe SATs. The minimum scores vary by university.

You need to look at the websites of the specific universities you are interested in and at the specific course of study (you understand that you must choose a course from the outset - effectively your major - and it is extremely difficult to change, right?). As a very rough guide, if there is no specific information for US applicants, if entry requirements for UK students are A-level grade A in subjects, X, Y and Z, you need to get AP 5 in those subjects or similar to be a good candidate. I would advise you to email the admissions office of the unis you are interested in with any more specific questions.

Too much jazz here. You need good grades bro, but it depends on the program. Which course you looking at and what school?

Come to KCL, world ranked 21st and we rock!

Generally good advice so far but I would suggest a combination of APs or SAT IIs AND a good SAT or ACT score. That is pretty well accepted.

I would take exception with UKdude84’s comment about KCL. It’s a decent university but 21st in the world? Don’t pull my leg, it’s not even top 10 in the UK so 21st worldwide is unlikely as much as it pains me to say it. It does depend on your major though, you will find certain schools are better than others for certain subjects. Imperial College, for example, is a highly respected for sciences.

QS world rankings 2010 would disagree with you. 28th in 2011.
