requirements for transfer to UCLA/USC/NYU

Hello!

I am currently a student at a CCC and I was simply wondering about requirements/averages to transfer to UCLA/USC/NYU.
I’m aware to transfer to UCLA you need 60 credits, but I have no idea about USC and NYU. Counselors here don’t really know much about anything other than public California schools so any help would be greatly appreciated. I should state that I plan on applying to UCLA and USC as a film major and NYU as either film or drama, not sure yet. I’ve been told that NYU it’s pretty 50/50 on portfolio/school performance, and that schools like UCLA or USC would accept a student with a lower GPA than the average (like a student with a 3.5 rather than their average of a 3.7) for art majors and if anyone has any say about this, that would be lovely.

I would also like to state that I am doing TAG for UCSC, although it’s a bit out of my realm I would like to hear people (who have attended) opinion on UCSC.

And lastly, if you’re aware of any other schools that would be good for my interest, please let me know.

So to restate one last time, if anyone could give me any information on any of this for UCLA, USC and NYU

credits needed to transfer:
average GPA for film major:
and just what they might have experienced or heard about the programs.
THANK YOU!

They each have Transfer Admissions links on their web sites. You need to do some research on your own. Here’s the start: http://admission.usc.edu/transfer/prospective/transferworksheet.html

I plan also applying to UCLA film but I also know the USC admission process. UCLA uses a basic IGETC with the Big requirement of a portfolio of some sort. For me I’m going into screenwriting which requires a a script or a brief synopsis (no more than 3 pgs). GPA for ulca film is a min 3.2 they don’t care too much about GPA just your work and idea’s (potential).

USC is a bit more strict basically they same requirements except they use the common app and they do accept IGETC. USC isn’t too big on GPA for film but they require an amateur portfolio of real work that you have done. For example for USC screenwriting you must have a proper script that must be in screenplay format and it has to be 6pgs+. USC programs require you to take more classes outside of your major if you get in. UCLA in the other had you just take you classes for you major and ge stuff if you haven’t completed it yet.

Both schools are very competitive and exceptance rates are very low like they might only take 30 people out of thousands of applicant’s. I don’t know about NYU and film production I only know screenwriting. For UCLA try looking at Assist to see if you classes transfer. For USC check their CC class equivalences.

Im also a ccc student and wanna transfer to UCI or NYU. since NYU is out of state school. Wondering if there are some other requirments.
