Rescinded for a D?

Im really concerened about possibly getting rescinded from a UC if i get a D.

I applied to UCSD, UCI, UCM, UCR and UCSC. I have a pretty good chance of getting into almost all of these.

The problem is, im taking precalc this year and i have a D+ right now, 2 weeks before finals week. The odds of me rasing it to a C are low but im working my butt off.

If i do get a D, would i get rescinded? My GPA with a D is about 3.6, and i’ve gotten C’s in almost every math clasd ive every taken in highschool so its not like im suddenly slacking off senior year.

What do you guys think?

Yes it is highly possible the UC’s will rescind for a D. It will depend upon each specific campus. If you receive that D, you need to contact all UC’s. It will be up to them to decide how to proceed further. Most will wait until 2nd semester grades are out and if you can get your final grade up to a C.

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.
If you receive an offer of admission, be sure to confirm with the campus admission office that they are aware of the deficient grade or schedule changes. Although you must notify the campus of these changes, we cannot guarantee that a campus can go back to review an application after correspondence has been received. Make sure to save a copy of your correspondence just in case.

I think you get a tutor if at all possible to try to save your grade on the final exam. Maybe a student in National Honor society can help you if You cant afford a tutor. Study like crazy and rescue your grade. You can do it.

Also talk with your teacher - ask for help, extra credit, etc. - some teachers can have a soft heart to help you make the C if you are very very close.
