Rescinded for not taking an AP test senior year??

Hey guys,

I have AP Art History this year. I said on my applications that I was planning to take the AP class. But, our teacher got fired, and although we got a new one, I don’t have the motivation to self-study for a class I have no interest in. I still plan to take AP Chem, AP stats, and AP enviro. Will I be rescinded for not taking the AP art history test (still in the class btw)??

oh, and I applied to some very competitive schools (like Yale) if that matters at all

Schools generally don’t care whether you take the test. Being in the class is what matters.

It is only the class that matters…many students don’t take the AP test (as a senior) until after they already accepted!

Many senior students would skip the AP exam of the subject that may not get them credit in the schools they have already admitted EA or ED. It is rather common.

FWIW, when I was in your situation a few years ago and asking myself the question, I contacted my college to ask them. The woman in admissions laughed in my face and said they don’t care. L-)

So no, you won’t get rescinded. Now, unless you know where you will be attending, and know that the college does not grant credit for the exam, I see no reason not to take the test if you can afford it. But that’s a separate question which you already asked:
