Rescinding Acceptance?

I was just accepted ED to Emory but currently I’m very nervous that they might rescind my acceptance based on my academic performance this year.

I have 8 AP classes, 4 each semester, and I will be getting 3 A’s this semester and 1 C or D. The C or D is determined by how well I do on my Calculus AB Final this coming Tuesday.

I’m obviously studying a lot for it but I really let this class slip bad and while I definitely am learning from it and I will never make this mistake again (I’m happy I made this mistake in highschool and not college) I am worried that Emory will see this and take away my acceptance.

I’m also going to be changing my schedule next semester and taking Calculus BC off my schedule because after how this class went I have absolutely no desire to take that class.

If there is anyone experienced with this type of issue here, how likely is it that me getting 1 C/D (I definitely won’t fail the class) and changing one of my AP classes to an elective (I want to take astronomy lots of my friends are in there) will cause me to get my acceptance rescinded? This is my dream school but I’m just really scared right now.

Thank you.

You will not be rescinded trust me. They are not out to get you and do not want to rescind you. Remember, you’re worth $60,000 a year to them. I received a D in AP english second semester of senior year last year and Emory didn’t even mention it to me. But whatever you do, don’t drop that AP class. Keep up the rigor of you’re schedule (they appreciate that). As long as you get A’s and B’s in most of your classes, one C or D won’t affect you. Just don’t fail a class and you’ll be fine. Congrats on your acceptance btw!

Thank you @undergrad20 ! My problem is I have 4 AP Classes, three of which are considered to be the three hardest AP classes at my school (AP Physics 2, AP Microecon, AP Calc BC) and I have soccer next semester on top of being president of two clubs so I seriously don’t know if I can juggle it. I’ll talk to my counselor about it and see what she thinks.

@EmoryPorFavor

First and foremost, do NOT fail any classes. By “fail,” I mean getting an F.

Second, make sure you finish with enough credit hours to get your high school diploma.

The corollary to the above is that you should replace AP Calc BC with something easier.

Given how you’ve done in calculus so far, there’s no way you will place out of it at Emory. You will benefit from and be required to retake it from Math 111 onward.
