Im wondering if anyone has ever heard of this happening to students after they've been accepted. One of my friends is concerned because his grades have dropped a few points (92 to a 88/89) since being accepted. I myself am a little concerned because I am doing pretty poorly in physics (I dislike science with a passion). Will a very bad grade (im talking like high 70's in physic) cause my admission to be revoked? Thanks everyone for your answers.

I think they look at overall GPA. To them, it's probably a hassle to nitpick at everyone's final transcripts and have to deal with leaving an admitted student out in the cold (for ANY college) that late in the year. They looked thoroughly into our applications during the admissions process, so I think unless you drop your GPA like 7-8 points on the 100 scale, it shouldn't be a problem. I would try to get it out of the 70's.

Just do the best you can but I think where you really have to worry is if you are in the D's or for sure the F's in any of your classes. Just do reasonably well but they know it is hard to keep motivated once you are accepted into college. The same thing happens when you get into graduate school, btw.

Thanks both of you. gosh it seems like im one of the few non "irish" posters here lol. but yeah, im going to try to pick up my physics grades, and ill reassure my friend about his admission. thanks for your help. so i guess no one on this board has friends who had their admission rescinded. ill just be relieved when i finish my school year (in 3 days of class and 6 days of finals) and ill be able to kick back and relax.

Also, my high school college counselor posted some examples of letters from colleges in response to falling grades. Both letters (from Conn and UChicago) warned the students that they expected them to get their grades (D's and C's) up, but neither actually rescinded the admission decision. You should be fine, but, of course, its always best to try and keep out of the C range.

OMG this is making me freak out!!! PLEASE HELP ME.
so this semester i’m getting a c in ap bio, physics, and most likely ap french. last semester, i got a b in bio, a c in physics, and a d in ap french. will nd rescind my admission?!?! should i call them and explain???

Well, the OP ended up at Notre Dame, so they probably don’t rescind for grades like that.

I heard they rescind kids who post the same question in 3 different threads. I will now alert them about dabinlee.

hardy har. i am really nervous :(((( sorry i just wanted the opinion of more people
