Surprised that this topic hasn't come up earlier this year as it seams to have come up every year so far, but does anyone actually know of someone who got rescinded from the University of Pennsylvania due to grades? I wasn't always a straight A student with the occasional b and such, but this year I think I might get 3 b's if my grades stay the same as they are right now. Would this warrant rescinding my acceptance?

No, I’m pretty sure you’d have to fail a class or at least get a couple of C’s for them to even consider rescinding you.

It takes a lot to get rescinded. Only a handful (less than a half dozen) students have had their offers rescinded in the past couple years. Unless you just stop going to school or you flunk all your classes, you’ll be fine. Obviously, you should strive for the best for education’s sake, but don’t spend ANY time worrying about having your offer rescinded as long as you’re not a recent felon or anything.

@jreeder: Thank you for the words of comfort man! Really appreciate it!

If you don’t mind, I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions I had concerning revoking acceptances.

1) When are students who do happen to have their acceptances rescinded notified that they have been rescinded?

2) My grades have been straight a’s with the occasional b all throughout high school (6 a’s and 1 b usually) This semester, it looks like I might end up with 3 a’s and 4 b’s… Would this warrant a cause for worry?

3) Also, how does truancy work into rescinding acceptances?

Thanks a ton!
