Rescindment

I got an email from Chapman saying: As stated in our acceptance letter, admission to Chapman University is contingent on satisfactory completion of all coursework prior to enrollment. Your final high school transcript shows academic performance that falls short of our established standards for matriculation. As a result, the admission committee is considering rescinding your fall 2018 admission offer.

We want to understand what occurred this past semester and ask that you complete our Academic Performance Review form. When completing the form, provide an explanation for your recent performance, as well as your plans for future improvement. You can also upload any relevant documentation.

The form was basically just a letter asking me to explain what happened. I didn’t get any D’s or anything. When I applied early action I had around a 3.5 weighted GPA. During my first semester of senior year I got a 4.4 W GPA with 4 As and 1 B but in my second semester I got 2As 1B and 2Cs. I’m guessing that the 2 Cs is the a problem. In the letter I basically owned up to it saying that I didn’t keep on as a rigimented study schedule as I did in the previous semester. Is this just a slap on the wrist or are they actually going to rescind me for 2Cs which is a 3.6 W GPA.

UPDATE: I WAS NOT RESCINDED. I have never felt so relieved in my life. No academic probation either and I didn’t loose my scholarship

Congrats! My daughter is entering her junior year and loves it there!
