Probationary admission

I got admission approved, and got accepted. My letter stated that I got in as a probationary student since my stats were below average, and I can only take 14 credit hours for my first semester.
Does anyone know anything about this?
I'm afraid that I might get rescinded because I have a couple Cs...

I have heard that with “issues,” the best thing is to contact Admissions by fax or phone and be up front about it. They will get your grades at the end of the year anyway, so wouldn’t you rather face it head on now? You can talk about what you’re doing to bring up the C’s and what you may do differently in the fall if you are still admitted. Good luck.

I would imagine that there are plenty of students that got admitted to Chapman that had a few C’s here and there…

Make sure that you talk to admissions and have them clear up this probation stuff for you so that you fully understand it, then let them know about the Spring semester grades…

i got accepted as well with probationary admission. Im a little worried because i think i will end up at chapman for next year and obviously stay there if i like it, but i was planning on trying to transfer to NYU for my sophmore year. is that going to be possible if i can only take 14 credit hours for my first semester?

besides limiting the number of hours…do you have to maintain a certain GPA freshman year?
What were your stats…would appreciate knowing as my d is in the same boat

i got it too.
except y gpa is a 3.7 is idk why i received this too

i think it was my sats :/

those of you that got academic probation…is it all for Dodge??? Do you have a maintain a certain GPA to stay at chapman? My D has same thing but they don’t say what GPA you need to maintain…

What were your stats?

3.7gpa??? was that for Dodge?

good luck to all!!

You just have to get over a 2.0 for the first semester. I applied to Chapman as a business major.
I have a 3.1, and an 1870 SAT score.
