Hi. I'm currently majoring in chemistry and eventually will be applying to PhD programs in planetary science after graduation. I know that in order to get in, having research experience is extremely important.

I have already contacted a professor to do research with at my school, and I'm wondering if maybe I should contact another?

Is working as an undergraduate (unpaid) research assistant very time consuming? I'm not involved in anything else, just taking classes. I'm currently only taking 12 hours, but next semester i will be taking 15-16 hours.

So how many professors do you think I could do research with at the same time?

Also, is it considered rude somehow to be doing research with two different professors?
