Hey, I just went to a tour at UConn on Sun. and was really impressed--good atmosphere, new facilities, overall pretty exciting. I'd look to go there as an Mol. Bio major, and am interested in genetics research. Does UConn do any science research on-campus? I know they do research down in Farmington at their hospital, but that wouldn't be for undergrad, right?

There is a LOT of research happening at the Storrs campus. Some areas are competitive to get into, but it is available.

UConn is a research university, ie its primary focus (in addition to churning out CT college grads) is research.

The biology departments, PNB, EEB, and MCB have plenty of stuff going on.

Also keep in mind that, while there are plenty of new/flashy facilities and buildings on campus, there are also a lot of older ones that they don’t show you on the tour.
